ROYAL PALACE OF MADRID

It is located at ten minutes walking distance from the apartments. Inside the palace is a pleasure to enjoy its rich decorative materials used in all its rooms: Spanish marble, mahogany and its ornate windows are so beautiful. It is very interesting to appreciate how the decorative style of the palace has changed over the years since its construction in the 18th century. Used to be the home of the kings of Spain, from Carlos III to Alfonso XIII. So visiting the Royal Palace of Madrid during your stay in the city is taking a beautiful journey through the history of Spain.

WINTER TIME SCHEDULE (from October to March): everyday from 10:00 a 18:00.

SUMMER TIME SCHEDULE (April to September): everyday from 10:00 a 20:00.

FREE VISITS: from Monday to Thursday from 18:00 to 20:00 H (April-September) and from 16:00 to 18:00 H (October-March). Kids under 5 years old can enter free everyday as well as large families (at least, with one spouse and 3 kids), disabled people, teachers with teaching card license and people legally unemployed. The 18th of May is also free entrance because of the International Day of Museums and the 12th of October, National Holiday, as well.

SAN MIGUEL MARKET

In the heart of Madrid you will find the Mercado de San Miguel, one of the city’s oldest and most beautiful markets. The market serves as a high-quality gastronomic and cultural meeting spot in the city center, offering fresh, seasonal products within the historical frames of the building. LA GRAN VÍA – LA PLAZA MAYOR

Whether for a three-day or three-week trip, you should definitely visit Gran Vía and Plaza Mayor – the Mayor Square. Inside the Mayor Square you can relax with a coffee on a terrace and study the equestrian statue of Felipe III, in the center of the square. The Mayor square has a beatiful archs and it´s located just five minutes from Apartamentos Cava Baja 1. At the same time, Gran Vía is an elegant shopping street located in the center of Madrid. The street is known today as the “Spanish Broadway”, and it is one of the streets with the most nightlife of Europe. The street is also known for the great architecture of many of the buildings, and it´s known everywhere as the street of Madrid that never sleeps.

TEMPLO DE DEBOD – DEBOD´S TEMPLE

This ancient Egyptian temple is a popular tourist attraction, and it´s also containing an interesting museum. Either to find some shade under the trees in the park, or to enjoy the beautiful view illuminated at night.

ALCALÁ GATE

The Alcalá Gate – “Puerta de Alcalá” is a must on your list of sightseeing in Madrid city. It´s next to El Retiro park. This ancient neoclassical-style gateway to Madrid is at its best at dusk, when lights shine on its arches.

PARQUE DEL RETIRO – RETIRO PARK

The wonderful Retiro park is usually described as the lungs of Madrid or the Central Park of the Spanish capital. This big and beautiful park has several coffee stops and is a welcome contrast to the buzzing downtown streets nearby.

REAL MADRID STADIUM SANTIAGO BERNABEU

You can visit the stadium and home of the Real Madrid Soccer Club with an admission ticket to know more about the story of the international soccer team or just enjoy walking around the stadium in Madrid. The club offers the BERNABEU TOUR which includes a visit to the trophy room, press room, down to the pitch, locker rooms and Madrid shop store, among others.
